Strong Fighter for Neighborhoods:
Karen is currently Cherokee Park Civic Association president. In that role, she recently spearheaded the drive to kill a rezoning to increase density by 100%, saving her neighborhood from future predatory re-zoning attempts.

Big Tree PhotoSupporter of Parks/Greenspace:
As past president and former board member of the John Ripley Forbes Big Trees Forest Preserve, Karen drafted the first version of the conservation easement between Fulton County and the JRF Big Trees Forest Preserve / South Eastern Land Preservation Trust, Inc.

Balanced Zoning Decisions:
Served as one of the Committee for Sandy Springs representatives on the Comprehensive Land Use Plan review for Sandy Springs known as Focus Fulton 2025… a template for future gorwth. She helped craft recommendations for high-quality redevelopment in Sandy Springs traditional commercial areas, while guaranteeing strong protections from intrusive development adjacent to existing neighborhoods.
